ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Amy—the founder and photographer behind SMJH Photography. My journey into photography began with a simple but powerful goal: to better myself and build a beautiful life for my children. Every click of the shutter is rooted in love, growth, and the desire to create lasting memories—not just for my own family, but for yours too.

SMJH Photography is named after the first initials of my children, a daily reminder of why I do what I do. When our youngest joined the crew, I knew the name had to evolve to include her—because every chapter matters, and every story deserves to be told.

Before launching my business, I wore many hats: customer assistant, assistant manager, manager, care assistant, and teaching assistant. Each role taught me something valuable about empathy, patience, and connection—all of which now shape the way I work with families.

- I’m a huge animal lover—especially dogs and horses! I’ve got hands-on experience with both, so if your session includes furry family members, I’m all in.
- Before taking the leap into self-employment, I worked in retail, care, and education. Each role helped shape the compassionate, people-first approach I bring to every shoot.
